Here’s what to expect from this episode:

What if your rock bottom was actually the beginning of your comeback story?

I had the most beautiful, soul-stirring conversation with Dominique Elissa on the Mindspo Podcast, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Dom is one of those rare people who shows up exactly as she is. No filters, no perfect wellness façade; just real, raw truth about her journey from struggling model to the grounded, joyful woman she is today.

What I love most about Dom’s story is that it wasn’t some overnight transformation. She didn’t wake up one day, toss out the wine bottles, start journaling, and magically heal her relationship with her body. It was messy. It took time. And that’s exactly why it hit home for me and why I think it’ll hit home for you too.

We talked about how her rock bottom (struggling with disordered eating, using red wine and sleeping pills just to sleep) actually became the foundation for everything good in her life now. How losing her mom earlier this year has both broken her heart and opened it wider. And how simple practices like gratitude journaling and her Bondi Walk Club have created more healing than she ever expected.

“It wasn’t my biggest weakness,” she told me about her darkest moments. “It’s actually my greatest strength.”

Can we just pause on that for a second? What if the parts of your story you’re most ashamed of are actually setting you up for your most meaningful work?

Dom also opened up about her sobriety journey, her evening routines, and how she’s redefined what wellness actually means. Hint: it’s way more about rest and connecting with yourself than it is about green smoothies and workout challenges.

If you’re:

  • Feeling a bit lost in your identity right now
  • Curious about cutting back on alcohol
  • Working through grief or any kind of loss
  • Craving more real connection in your life
  • Just need permission to slow down

…this conversation is going to feel like someone finally put words to what you’ve been feeling.

I left this chat feeling lighter, more inspired, and honestly a bit teary (in the best way). Sometimes the conversations that heal us most are the ones where someone else is brave enough to say “yeah, I struggled too. And here’s how I found my way back.”
