Mindspo Teacher Certification
    Scope of Work

    Scope of Practice for Graduates

What this certification prepares you to do:

As a Mindspo-Certified Meditation & Regulation Teacher, you are trained to design and lead non-clinical, evidence-informed practices that support regulation, focus, and future-oriented motivation for generally healthy adults.

    1) Services Within Scope

    • Guide foundational meditation (e.g., breath/attention, mantra-based practice, body awareness) and light relaxation.
    • Lead process-based visualisation/mental rehearsal for goals, confidence, performance preparation, and sleep support.
    • Teach nervous-system-safe skills: pacing, orientation, grounding, and simple self-regulation techniques.
    • Facilitate groups, workshops, and classes in community, workplace, retreat, or online settings.
    • Provide education, encouragement, and practice frameworks; track simple outcomes (self-report, attendance, practice logs).

    2) Settings and Populations

    • Adults and late adolescents (16+) who are not in acute crisis.
    • Workplace wellbeing, community groups, retreats, and online programs.
    • With additional employer policies/insurance, you may deliver introductory sessions in corporate settings.

    3) Screening & Informed Consent

Before leading a session, you must:

    • Explain what the practice is and is not; outline options to pause, modify, or opt out.
    • Screen for factors that may require adaptation or referral (e.g., untreated psychosis, recent significant trauma, complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, active substance withdrawal, seizure disorders/photosensitivity, severe depression with suicidality, pregnancy-related complications).
    • Obtain explicit consent for participation and for any recording.

    4) When to Refer or Decline

Any presentation that suggests risk of harm to self/others, active psychosis, medical instability, or trauma processing needs outside educational coaching must be referred to licensed care.

If a participant requests diagnosis, therapy, or medical advice, decline and refer. Maintain a resource list of local/national services.

    5) What is Outside Scope

    • Diagnosing or treating mental health or medical conditions.
    • Trauma therapy, EMDR, exposure therapy, or crisis counselling.
    • Directive advice on medication, nutrition, or pregnancy management.
    • High-intensity breathwork, abreaction/catharsis practices, or any method designed to induce extreme states.

    6) Risk Management & Safety

    • Use plain-language invitations, not commands. Offer eyes-open options and grounding throughout.
    • Monitor arousal; shorten or simplify practices if participants show dysregulation.
    • Avoid hands-on touch unless essential and consented.
    • Have an emergency plan: how to stop a session, who to contact, and local emergency numbers. Follow local mandatory-reporting laws.

    7) Record-keeping & Privacy

Keep minimal records necessary for professional operation: date, session type, group size, notable incidents, referrals given.

Store data securely and in compliance with applicable privacy laws (e.g., GDPR). Do not store sensitive details you don't need.

    8) Insurance, Supervision & CPD

Obtain appropriate professional liability insurance in your jurisdiction before working with the public.

    Seek periodic supervision/peer consultation.

    9) Marketing & Representation

    • Use truthful, non-misleading claims. Do not guarantee outcomes.
    • Use the title "Mindspo-Certified Meditation & Regulation Teacher" (or "Mindspo-Certified Mental Wellness Teacher" if preferred).
    • Do not present yourself as a psychologist, psychotherapist, counsellor, or medical professional unless you hold that licence.
    • When sharing client stories, obtain written consent and protect privacy.

    10) Use of Mindspo Materials and Credential

You may use your certificate and graduate badge in your marketing.

Scripts and resources provided by Mindspo are for use in your sessions; do not republish or resell them, unless with expressed consent.

    Sample Client Disclaimer

"I am a certified meditation and regulation teacher. What I offer is educational, not therapy or medical treatment. If you have a diagnosed condition or are in crisis, please work with a licensed professional. Participation is voluntary, and you may pause or stop at any time."
