Finding Joy in a Disconnected World: A Conversation with Rādhikā Dās [ep. 84]
Sometimes in life, you’ll meet certain people and have certain conversations that just hit different. My chat with Rādhikā Dās for today’s episode was one of them.
Radhika is the author of “Mantra Meditation” and if you haven’t heard of him yet, you’ve probably seen videos of his events – rooms packed with thousands of people, all chanting, dancing, and experiencing profound connection through the power of sound. But what fascinates me most isn’t just what he’s doing now – it’s how he got here.
Imagine working in corporate finance, following society’s more conventional path to “success,” but feeling this persistent calling toward something more meaningful. That was Radhika’s reality before he took what he calls “the plunge” – choosing to live a life less ordinary by awakening ancient traditions that are transforming how people connect.
During our conversation, we dive deep into what it means to make choices based on our spiritual aspirations rather than our fears (spoiler alert: this might be what true freedom looks like). We explore why devotion could be more powerful than discipline, and how ancient practices like mantra meditation might be exactly what we need in our increasingly disconnected modern world.
What struck me most was Radhika’s perspective on loneliness – not just the surface-level disconnection we all feel sometimes, but that deeper longing to express love and be truly seen. Through his work in sharing mantra meditation with the world, he’s creating spaces where people can drop the masks and connect authentically, not just with each other but with something greater than themselves.
The timing of this conversation feels particularly divine. We’re living in an age where we’re more “connected” than ever, yet somehow feeling more isolated. Radhika offers a different path – one that doesn’t require us to retreat from the world, but instead invites us to engage with it more fully, more authentically, and with more joy.
Whether you’re spiritually curious, feeling that pull toward something deeper, or simply craving more meaningful connection in your life, this conversation offers both practical wisdom and profound insights.
And if this episode resonates with you, you’ll also love exploring these themes more deeply in Radhika’s beautiful new book “Mantra Meditation”, available at themantrabook.com. Without further ado, click play and let’s dive in!
